EXPLORING WEST VIRGINIA CAVES

Here are some photographs I took as my friends and I explored some of the wild caves in West Virginia, crawling on our bellies, wandering through underground waterways, most of all enjoying the beautiful water sculptured formations of the limestone.

On our adventures we slithered through dwarfish hollows, seems like miles, positioned flat at a dead stillness, while one at a time we repelled down the inner cliffs into the river. Cool temperatures of the water saturated our pants and shoes as we sauntered onward through the slick natural body of the cave. We are always protective of the wildlife and ancient structures.

Caving is fun but also one must carefully anticipate each step to prevent accidents that could be fatal. Always remember your way back to the light.
